Lake Cataouatche Levee Enlargement, B/L Sta.160+00 to Hwy 90

This Best Value contract awarded by Department of the Army – New Orleans District, Corps of Engineers involves the construction of approximately 1 mile of earthen levee paralleling a landfill that lies south of Highway 90 as part of the Lake Cataouatche system in Jefferson Parish. It also includes the construction of levee structures to the authorized elevation and the relocation of a drainage canal.
The project consists of raising the existing level of protection provided by the existing levee to authorized project grade including stability berms with compacted clay fill, the construction of a sheet pile wall, two rows of pvc culvert pipe buried in the protected side berm, bedding stone and granular fill as culvert pipe back fill, and disposal of |

| materials off site. Additionally an existing drainage canal will be relocated by using buried culverts while remaining in continuous operation. All fresh fill will receive fertilizing and seeding except where road surfacing is placed. |
